U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords, who was critically injured.
Jared Lee Loughner was indicted on three counts of attempted murder, including one alleging he tried to kill U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords with his Glock semiautomatic handgun, and was arraigned on additional charges.
Doctors had to remove a piece of the congresswoman's skull to allow for her brain to swell after she was shot in the head at a political meet-and-greet in Tucson, Ariz. The Congresswoman also had a permanent shunt placed in the skin behind her ear to drain spinal fluid from her brain and into her abdomen. Gabrielle Giffords will receive outpatient care in Houston, which means she will remain away from her home district in Arizona.
After five months in the hospital following a gunshot wound clear through the left side of her head, Giffords was discharged from Houston's TIRR Memorial Hermann hospital.

Every single Republican member of congress voted "NO" on the measure which would have eliminated Big Oil subsidies from The Government.
