Obama at The G8 summit, "Climate change is one of the defining challenges of our time". The climate change and energy policy bill winding its way through the U.S. Congress shows a new federal eagerness to build a renewable energy future, but what specifically to build where is still up for debate. China, Russia, and Brazil were expected to use the summit to push view that the world needs to start seeking a new global reserve currency as an alternative to the dollar. G8 members Germany, France, and Canada down played rumor of the summit including a detailed currency discussion.
